SEVERED

BY LORAH GERALD

Quiet and timid
She sits alone
The chaos builds
As she seems unaware
Longing for a ghost

The world has no meaning

Lost in the shadow
I can’t stop screaming
What I knew
Now is lost

Mother, Father, where did you go

I was here now I am not
My chameleon skin hides the pain
Blending in
To be the same

On the outside looking in
No one knows what remains
Who I was or my name
My history severed
Never to be regained
